Program Note Written for the Production:
Scholar &
Painter
Over the course of roughly two years, I worked with Rachel to pitch, develop, devise, and reimagine a movement play. Based on a true story, the play told the story of two WWII refugees who fell in love and used their bond to battle Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to script development work, I collaborated with Rachel and the actors in the room, providing notes and other feedback, as well as a production information website.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the stage production of Scholar and Painter was cancelled two and a half weeks before opening. A documentary about the process of developing the play was created in its place (linked above).

Atlas of
Depression
An original semi-devised documentary play directed by Eben Hoffer
March 2018 - April 2019
I collaborated with Eben to develop a collection of personal interviews into a play script with devised elements. This included script editing, providing feedback on play structure and audience interpretation, and functioning as a sensitivity coach on matters of meaningful representation (specifically of BIPOC and women). I also worked closely with the actors, creating a production information website, and being present in the rehearsal room to help give notes when needed.
